I have elephant ankles/serves me right.
Also, here's a picture of a deer and a dead baby bird, from my walk to work this morning (afternoon).

Isn't it great to see pictures again?
Tonight is Cinco de Mayo, I think Mexican independence from...France? Tiny fiesta here at Beulah, and a reason to wear one dress I've been hanging onto, just for such an occasion. I bought a sombrero today too, at the thrift store. Probably for Ben Gallman to wear.

or for josh ballard to take home.
Mexican Independence Day = Sept. 15, from Spain.
5 de Mayo= a minor holiday in the state of Puebla, Mexico, that remembers a tiny battle that took place there where a bandit kidnapped a princess. The only place they celebrate it is in Puebla; they just reenact the kidnapping and shoot off some fireworks. Not a big drunk-holiday.
They did it in Philly two Sundays ago.
All Mexis think it's really funny that gringos think May 5 is Mexi Independence.
EVOCKSGR
ps your new photosebleed is gross.
PINGA
Um...I went to that two Sundays ago. They all had on Mummer-type outfits and everything, it was a big deal. A lot of the men were painted silver. Anyway, (at least in South Philly) you're wrong - it IS a big drunk holiday. With fried dough.\ and everything.
must be a recent development
(also, though, most of the Mexis in Philly are from Puebla)
