crossing

So, I made this shelf ("made" = part disassembly, part new holes and parts, and part reassembly) for my shoes.
It's kind of a little, no-big-deal project, but that's the kind of thing that's going to be happening at the other blog, if we ever get it going.  So, if you want to know what's going on at Lehigh, check there.

Nice job on this! I got here from Ikea Hacker -- I'm thinking of attaching two hyllis shelves back-to-back to make the shelf deeper but I'm not sure how to make the holes in the metal. How did you do this?

Thanks!

Esther,
I was able to drill through the metal with a regular wood drill bit. It's just a matter of holding the drill steady and pressing down. The metal is so thin that the drill will just go through it.
You might just need slightly longer screws to attach through two shelves.
I'd love to see it when you're done!
