So, this idea developed yesterday, about making a chandelier out of baby deer: a chandedeer.*
(Imagine a tiered cake, covered with tiny deer cupcake toppers, but then flipped upside down, hanging from the ceiling, and with a light inside instead of cake).
So, I've posed the question to the aforementioned Internet Librarians, about a good source for LOTS of deer. We'll see if they can do better than Etsy. I'm looking for quantity, bang for buck**. I want a thousand deer for ten dollars or something. The impossible dream? We'll see.
*depending on how this turns out...it might up an "upstairs hallway" or "craft room" type lighting fixture.
**pun not intended, but good.

I don't understanding why your asking librarians, it seems like a waste of their time. Are you seriously going to pay for this. I am a bit confused. And I hate leaving comments like this because I think I sound "mean" . I am not being mean.
Oh, never mind I reread it and i realized you are asking librarians for cheap plastic deer. Which is still weird but not as weird as you asking them who could make it for cheap. I still think it is a waste of their time. Who are these people?
I was similarly concerned about it being a waste of their time. Holly (who knows all about this, and librarians, and whatever) told me it was okay to ask, and that I should be really specific about what I needed. You're supposed to be able to ask them pretty much anything I guess.
They've already answered me. So many deer, but none as cheap as I wanted.
The people are volunteers and Amanda McKnight, you can read all about it on the website.
I love love love it.
Try emailing the folks at Uncle Fun (unclefunchicago@gmail.com) to see if they have any leads on cheap plastic deer.
Also, what kind of person am I that I would seriously never care whether I was wasting the librarian's time?
